There are many reasons for this: Humans systematically pollute the air, earth and water by releasing millions of tons of toxic chemicals every day, burning petroleum, gas, gasoline, coal and wood and thereby producing huge amounts of carbon monoxide and dioxide.

But it's not just the air that has become less oxygenated. In Japan, air is not only pumped into the cities via special pipelines that have been “collected” from the countryside, but air is also sold in canisters. Filling a canister like this costs a whopping twelve dollars and lasts just two minutes - that's how long sixty to eighty breaths take.
