Shaligrama (ammonite) are fossils blessed by Vishnu energy, found only in the Gandaki River, also called Kali Ghandaki. This black Gandaki rises in Mustang, in the north of the Himalayas and flows along the deepest valley in the world towards the west. The Sahligramas found there are evidence of thousands of years of history and have a dark grey to black colour due to the depth of the valley. In the Hindu tradition they are regarded as holy objects of power. A shaligram contains the power and energy of Narayana (Mahavishnu). Vishnu does not have to be attracted by a shaligram because the shaligram stands for Vishnu independently. Even a small piece of a shaligram is enough to connect with Vishnu.
