Vibhuti is especially blessed ashes, which come from the sacrificial fire and are connected with the Hindu god Shiva. As a luck-bringing element they apply especially the followers of Shiva as a tika on the forehead or other places, or use it for the healing of physical and mental diseases.
In Sanskrit, vibhuti means "wealth."
The application of vibhuti represents the destruction of samsara (the material universe) and karma (the sum of all actions). It promises the greatest benefit, or "spiritual wealth."
Wearing them reminds one of death and of the impermanent nature of everything in the world except God.
Vibhuti also symbolizes the indestructibility of the human being, because even after burning one's own body, a little ash remains.
