An abishek is a religious bathing ceremony for a deity with holy water, milk, yoghurt, buttermilk, honey, clarified butter, sugar and all kinds of fruit juices.
During the abishek the deity is called, seated, greeted, bathed, clothed, fed and praised.

The deity symbol, which can be a Shivalingam or Shreeyantra or shawl gram or statue, is placed in this tray and the liquid collected after bathing is used to spray the house and is also consumed as prasad. A container for collecting the liquid is located below the liquid outlet on this tray.
