Special Yoga mat woven from Kusha grass

Yoga mat, also very suitable for Pilates, Feldenkrais, gymnastics and much more. Kusha grass is considered very cleansing in India. Rings are even woven from Kusha Grass and worn in pujas (Indian worship) so that the hands are ritually pure.

Kusha Gras is also a remarkable insulator, both physical and metaphysical, making it ideal for yoga, meditation and Japa. Indian religious texts mention in the Vedas that a person who does Japa or meditation without sitting on Kusha Grass does not attain fruit. Kusha, means sharp and is the root for the Sanskrit word for "expert", koala. This is because the edges of the long leaves, which grow in pairs, are very sharp along the high stems. Just as the sword is a symbol of insight or "discerning wisdom", so are the kusha leaves.
